I first heard this song when i attended the funeral of my first god
child, she had just turned two. I had given her this pretty pink dress and a
blk. teddy bear she had fallen in love with,(the bear was mine) little did
i know a week later she’d be buried in that dress with the bear beside her.

This song brings tears to my eyes because her dad will never experience
those things with her,so dads cherish every precious moment you have with
your daughters. Thx for allowing me to share.

“There’s two things I know for sure: She was sent here from heaven and
she’s daddy’s little girl…” and I started crying till the end of the
    song.

    Song Lyrics

There’s two things I know for sure
She was sent here from heaven
    And she’s daddy’s little girl
As I drop to my knees by her bed at night
She talks to Jesus and I close my eyes
And I thank God for all of the joy in my life
    Oh but most of all

For butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer
Stickin’ little white flowers all up in her hair
Walk beside the pony daddy it’s my first ride
I know the cake looks funny daddy but I sure tried

Oh with all that I’ve done wrong
I must have done something right
To deserve a hug every mornin’
    And butterfly kisses at night

    Sweet 16 today
She’s lookin’ like her mama a little more every day
One part woman the other part girl
To perfume and make up from ribbons and curls
Trying her wings out in a great big world
    But I remember

    Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer
Stickin’ little white flowers all up in her hair
You know how much I love you daddy
    But if you don’t mind
I’m only gonna kiss you on the check this time

Oh with all that I’ve done wrong
I must have done something right
To deserve her love every mornin’
    And butterfly kisses at night

    All the precious time
Like the wind the years go by
    Precious butterfly
    Spread your wings and fly

    She’ll change her name today
She’ll make a promise and I’ll give her away
Standing in the bride room just staring at her
She asked me what I’m thinkin’
And I said I’m not sure
I just feel like I’m loosin’ my baby girl
    And she leaned over

Gave me butterfly kisses with her mama there
Stickin’ little white flowers all up in her hair
Walk me down the isle daddy
    It’s just about time
Does my wedding gown look pretty daddy?
    Daddy’s don’t cry

Oh with all that I’ve done wrong
I must have done something right
To deserve her love every mornin’
    And butterfly kisses

I couldn’t ask God for more than this is what love is
I know I’ve got to let her go but I’ll always remember
Every hug in the mornin’ and butterfly kisses

my daughter will be getting married later this year and she just phoned me
and told me this is the song she wants us to dance too. I have never heard
it before but after listening to it I am so proud to be her dad, she has
picked a song that says it all has left me in tears. Lets hope on the day
we both dont start crying all over each other but if we do people will know
exactly how much I love her.

  9. Amy Faith Says:

This song helps me get through loosing my Grampa bc he raised me great
    song.

  10. FemNapkn Says:

She talks to Jesus? How does a small child talk to a mythical figure?
    People be nutty!

  11. weston wallace Says:

My father just passed about 2.5 weeks ago and it breaks my heart into
pieces when i hear this song,
    R.I.P Daddy ! I love you

  12. Ricardo Garcia Says:

I always thought I would play this song for my daughter the day she got
married, but, fate would have it that I never became a father.
To all the fathers in the world.
Cherish every moment with your kids. Time goes by faster then you think.

  13. Josefina Guidos Says:

The first song me and my daddy ever heard

  14. Richard brown Says:

Beautiful. How can you download this ?

  15. Rhiannon Ledger Says:

Why are you specifying country version, of a country song.

And so I’m not overly critical: when I get married this is going to be the
father daughter dance. My dad tried to show me this song once when I was 8,
but I was impatient and didn’t want to hear it. So I know it will shock him
that I remember after all these years that this song means a lot to him. I
    can’t wait.

  16. EstariaValens Says:

Honestly, I think this may be the greatest song ever written. Especially
for fathers. I can’t speak for the daughters out there, but I’ve cried 3
times in the past 20 years, and two of them were because of this song. It
makes me sad, though. I’ll never see my daughter turn 16, and I’ll never
see her marry. But I remember butterfly kisses. It’s always a struggle to
    convince myself that having that experience was worth the decades of pain;
but in the end, I couldn’t imagine life without. How shallow and void of
meaning would life be without the memory of butterfly kisses?

  17. Nicholas Cavanaugh Says:

This makes me cry when I think of my dad

  18. Isabella Hernandez Says:

Aww, I miss my dad so much

  19. Aaron Johnston Says:

I heard this song for the first time back in 2002, my daughter was 2. Some
things have happened since then but every time i hear this song it brings
tars to my eyes. My daughter is now 15 and she has been talking to me
finally, then out of the blue her gma has done something where she cant
talk to me. I listen to this song to this day. When i hear this song i
remenise about all the memories we have had. I know one day she will come
home im just counting down the days

  20. Kathleen Boucher Says:

Love this song, have for 20 years. It is sad though, especially for
daughters who have Dad’s that are not kind Dad’s, bittersweet for them, as
I and my 2 daughters can attest to. Peace.
